Step 2: Gather data in Tax Organizer. Sign Engagement Letter, 7216 Consent Form and Tax Organizer. In case of joint return, both taxpayers must sign and date all paperwork.
Step 3: All documents are to be in PDF format in one file. Scan documents in 300 dpi black and white. Formats other than PDF may not be accepted. Upload (or fax to 510-344-6039) the following documents:

Step 4: We start working on your return and may contact you for any clarification or if more information is required. After return is prepared we send you the following paper work:
For returns eligible for e-file: client copy of the return and forms authorizing us to e-file your return. Authorization forms will need to be signed and returned back to us.
For returns NOT eligible for e-file: Client copy, Federal copy & State copy of the return.
Step 5: For returns eligible for e-file: Upload or fax signed forms mentioned in step 4 to us.
For returns NOT eligible for e-file: Follow the instructions sent with Federal copy and State copy of the return to mail it to taxing authority by certified mail.
Step 6: For returns eligible for e-file: We e-file your return, You are all done.
For returns NOT eligible for e-file: You are all done.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if I don't have all the documents available?
If you know the correct dollar amount in missing supporting documents then you can fill the tax organizer with the amount. We can prepare your return using tax organizer and W2s. You are required to have supporting documents if you are claiming any deduction.
2. My case is very complex, can I get indication of preparation fees?
We will not know exact fees until we start working on your case. We can give fees indication based on your last year's return assuming they were filed correctly, all required forms were filed and your this year's tax situation is same as the last year. Write "Need Fee Indication" on the first page of tax organizer. We will contact you with fee indications. Fee indications may NOT be the same as the final preparation fees.

7. I am concerned about uploading my files on a website. Are my files secure?
Read here about security measure taken to secure your and our data. If you are still not confident then you can mail paperwork to us.
8. What happens after my return is prepared?
We will send you the client copy of the return with forms authorizing us to e-file. You will need to sign and fax e-file authorization form to us. After receiving paperwork return will be efiled and a notification will be sent to you.
In case your return is not eligible for eFile then we will send you client copy, federal copy and state copy.
9. When will my credit card be charged?
After we send you the client copy of the return.
